City adds EDC new siting tool to www.opportunityprovidence.com
PROVIDENCE - In an effort to support business growth and foster stronger partnerships with the state's Economic Development Corporation (RIEDC), Mayor Angel Taveras announced today that the City of Providence is now featuring Rhode Island Site Finder - an interactive location tool recently launched by the RIEDC - on its economic development website www.opportunityprovidence.com.
The online resource is a joint effort of the RIEDC, Economic Development Foundation of RI, Inc., RI Office of Statewide Planning and state's commercial real estate brokerage community, and was recently launched on the RIEDC's website www.riedc.com. Business leaders may search the database for properties based on location, cost, size of property and by sale or lease.
During his campaign, Mayor Taveras underscored the urgency of focusing on economic development, making it easier to do business in the city, and the need to work more closely with our state and private partners. This comprehensive on-line database - now freely shared by the RI Economic Development Corporation with the city- opens the door for easier access to essential location information, as business leaders make critical decisions about where and when to locate or grow.
The website offers interactive information about industrial, retail, office and commercial properties, sorted by broker/realtor; broker and member directories; links to state incentive programs; current business reports, and allows visitors to seek additional leads for properties not listed.
