Scouts can explore our world at the museum! The museum offers exciting Earth and Space Science programs for both Cub and Girl Scouts. Scouts can join museum educators on special Scout days, offered on a few set dates throughout the school year. The activities can help scouts on their way to earning different badges. Cub Scout Geology Rocks
Begin the day by completing a geology-themed quest through the museum to discover the fantastic rock, mineral and fossil specimens on display. The museum’s geologist will also be available to identify any rock specimens that scouts bring to the museum. Then join museum educators for a special workshop to explore geology topics from fossils to volcanoes. Discover why geology rocks at the museum!
Everyday Science (Girl Scout Brownies and Juniors)
Begin the day by completing a science-themed quest through the museum as you discover science in surprising places all around us. Then join museum educators for a special workshop where you will create fizzy, frothy experiments from everyday household items. Be a scientist for the day and discover how you might want to be a scientist in the future!
Program fee per session:
$5 per child, $3 for adults. Pre-registration is required, and program size is limited.
Please note: This is not a drop-off program. Parents must remain with their children. Siblings ages 4 and up may participate, but will be charged the $5 fee. Children must be age 4 and older to participate in the program. For more information call 401.680.7223.
