Passport app now available at on-street parking meters
There’s a new app available in Providence that will make parking easier for drivers across the city.
The city has introduced Passport, a parking app that allows drivers to pay for metered parking from the convenience of their phones. Rather than paying at the meter, users can purchase parking securely in the app, monitor their session, and extend time remotely.
Users can also preload funds onto their Passport Wallet for payment. This is especially convenient for frequent parkers, allowing for an even quicker payment process.
The app is now available at on-street metered parking where Passport signage is located. Passport signage will instruct users to download and get started with the app.
“We’re excited to offer this industry-leading technology to our residents and visitors in Providence. The City of Providence is committed to providing the most user-friendly parking experience possible, and we believe that the addition of Passport’s app will do just that,” said Mayor Jorge Elorza. “Users will have the flexibility to manage their parking from their phones, offering easier payment options and notifications of meter expiration.”
Signage and labels are already installed on:
• Thayer Street
• Meeting Street
• Euclid Avenue
• Westminster Street
• Union Street
• Canal Street
All streets with meters will be included in the program and the rollout will continue through the spring. Residents and visitors should keep an eye out for signage indicating the App is activated on their street.
