All Earth Day events should include a park cleanup. Trash bags, leaf bags and disposable gloves are provided at NO cost to you and your group. Please fill out the questions below so we can be sure to provide you with the quantity of supplies you’ll need for your park cleanup. Healthy snacks will also be included with your clean-up materials.
We are pleased to announce that will be offering the Volunteer Perks again this year! It is the lead contact person's responsibility to distribute Volunteer IDs and Volunteer Perk Details to all volunteers at your sites. Volunteer Perk details will be sent via email to lead contacts prior to event date and will be posted online on the city’s Parks Department and Partnership for Providence Parks websites as well as their Facebook pages.
Fibar Playground mulch will NOT be provided for this event. Wood chip mulch, which is only suitable for landscaping and plants, is available. If you would like to request wood chip mulch please contact City Forester, Doug Still DStill@providenceri.gov by April 1, 2019 to set up delivery.
ADDITIONAL EARTH DAY EVENT FUNDING
Awards will be based on the size and scope of the project. Please be specific with your description of how the requested funding will be used.
Please note that funding will NOT be provided for bottled water. In the interest of making all Earth Day events as environmentally responsible as possible, we suggest that you allocate some of your funding to purchase reusable water coolers for your park events.
Grants from the Partnership for Providence Parks are subject to certain restrictions. The Grant shall not be used for :
- Food, water, music, trash bags, lawn bags, or mulch, unless otherwise indicated in your award agreement.
- Conducting lobbying, carrying on propaganda or otherwise attempting to influence legislation.
- Any costs not directly related to the funds requested and approved in your award agreement.
Please send receipts and 3 photos of your team and project to the Earth Day Committee by May 31st, 2019 to be considered for funding in subsequent years.
