Trash and recycling collection to continue on regular schedule, City offices to open and operate during normal business hours
PROVIDENCE, RI – Due to winter storm conditions, Providence Public Schools will open Thursday, March 22, 2018 with a 2-hour delay. The citywide parking ban will remain in effect until 6:00AM and trash and recycling collection will continue on its regular schedule. City offices will be open and will operate during normal business hours.
The morning session of the Sunrise Program at Robert F. Kennedy Elementary School is cancelled.
Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the street during the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be ticketed and towed to ensure that roadways can be plowed.
The Department of Public Works has prepared all equipment and personnel to respond to the storm. Roadways have been pretreated ahead of the snowfall. Crews will work throughout the night to clear roads.
