Leonela Felix joined the City Solicitor’s Office as the Ethics Education Coordinator and ADA liaison in January of 2020. She primarily works on developing educational programs, resources and training for city employees and officials on municipal ethics. She is also responsible for providing guidance on compliance with the Open Meetings Act, the Access to Public Records Act and the Americans with Disabilities Act.
Prior to joining the Solicitor’s Office, Leonela served as the Deputy Director of Policy for Mayor Jorge O. Elorza for nearly two years. During her tenure, she lead the Mayor’s vision and programs around Immigration, Criminal Justice and Equality. She has a rich background in neighborhood advocacy and has worked in provide and non-profit practices in the areas of Immigration, Criminal and Family law.
Leonela is a graduate of New England Law, Boston where she received the President Anna E. Hirsch Award for service to the law school, and the Charles Hamilton Houston Enrichment Program Honor Society for academic excellence. She is admitted to practice law in Minnesota and she enjoys long walks with her fiancé Greg and their dogs, Chiquita and Chanel.
