Mayor Jorge O. Elorza today announced that the City of Providence will be accepting nominations for the twelfth annual Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hall of Fame awards.
The MLK Hall of Fame recognizes individuals who carry on the legacy of the late Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. within the community. Inductees will have made substantial contributions to acceptance, social justice, civil rights and equality in the City of Providence.
Nomination letters must be submitted to the Providence Human Relations Commission no later than Thursday, January 29, 2015.
Letters of nomination should specify how the nominee has exemplified the spirit of Dr. King and should be no longer than two pages. Nominees must be a resident of Providence, or have accomplished a significant amount of community work in Providence.
