Marking its quasquicentennial on June 6th of 2021, Rhode Island’s only natural history museum, home to the state’s only public planetarium, is hosting a celebration for families to discover this hidden gem! Explore the exhibits with a museum quest, see a planetarium show, tour the museum archives, experience Ten31 living art, and more. This special day will feature some new visitor experiences and exhibit designed by Met School students. Anniversary program registrations, planetarium show tickets, and museum timed-admission must be purchased ONLINE ONLY. To register, purchase admissions, and planetarium show tickets, please select June 6 and make your selections using the online booking form provided below.
June 6 Anniversary Special Events:
Astronaut Fulldome Planetarium Show at 1pm and Cosmic Collisions Planetarium Show at 2pm
Planetarium show ticket (does not include museum admission) is $3/Museum Members Free, children must be age 4 and older.
FOR SAFETY REASONS, TICKETHOLDERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER THE PLANETARIUM ONCE THE SHOW HAS BEGUN.
MUST ALSO PURCHASE MUSEUM TIMED-ADMISSION WITH PLANETARIUM SHOW TICKET.
Bird Walk at 9:00am and 3:00pm
Program registration (does not include museum admission) is $3/Museum Members Free, recommended for children ages 7 and older.
Please wear comfortable shoes and bring binoculars if you have them. All skill levels are welcome. Pre-registration required.
Archives Tour at 10:00am and 11:00am
Program registration (does not include museum admission) is $5/Museum Members $3, children must be age 7 and older.
Archives, non-public space, is accessible by stairs only. Pre-registration required.

Museum of Natural History: Open 10am – 3pm, last admission at 2:30pm
Museum timed-admission (does not include the planetarium) is $2/Museum Members Free, free for children under age 4
The time slot selected for museum admission ONLY is your arrival window (ex: if you choose 12:30pm-1:00pm, you must arrive between that window time). Choose carefully and then confirm your selection, as all selections/sales are final. Once in the museum you may stay as long as you would like. Please note: Use of strollers are discouraged and need to be carried/lifted to enter and exit the museum. Please remember museum admissions and planetarium show tickets are always free for museum members.
