Today the Environmental Sustainability Task Force voted in support of the Office of Sustainability officially adopting the Racial and Environmental Justice Committee’s (REJCs) Recommendations for A Racially Equitable and Just Providence.
There was an immense amount of hard work that went into creating these powerful recommendations and the Office of Sustainability looks forward to continuing to work with the ESTF and the REJC on implementation.
This work is part of the Equity in Sustainability Initiative, a joint project between the City’s Office of Sustainability and the Environmental Justice League of Rhode Island. It is funded by the Rhode Island Foundation, the Island Foundation, and Partners for Places.
