PROVIDENCE, RI – Mayor Jorge O. Elorza today announced that his office is accepting applications for the 2016 Mayoral Fellowship Program.
The Mayoral Fellowship Program offers full-time summer positions to students and recent graduates interested in gaining meaningful experience in city government. Mayoral Fellows work under the direct supervision of a Department Director on a high-impact project designed to improve the quality of life in Providence.
“The Mayoral Fellowship Program will provide students and recent graduates with valuable first-hand experience on what it is like to work in public service,” said Mayor Elorza. “I ask all students who are interested in public service and want to help make a difference in the community to apply for this exciting opportunity.”
Mayoral Fellows will have the opportunity to take part in a wide variety of city programs depending upon their individual interests and qualifications. In past years, Fellows have worked in departments throughout the city including, Healthy Communities, Arts Culture + Tourism, Planning, Sustainability and in the Mayor’s Office.
