Mayor Jorge Elorza today announced that Tolulope Kevin Olasanoye will serve as Director of Purchasing for the City of Providence.
“I look forward to working with Kevin to improve the way the City procures goods and services,” said Mayor Elorza. “In addition, Kevin has done great work supporting women and minority contractors and it will be a priority for him to help the city meet its WMBE goals.”
Olasanoye began working as an Assistant City Solicitor in 2012, where he oversees the City’s compliance with the American Disabilities Act, and provides counsel to the City Council Committee on Finance and the Commission on Minority and Women Business Enterprises.
Kevin previously worked for campaigns including Obama for America and in US Senator Jack Reed’s D.C. Office. A Providence native, he graduated from Classical High School, the University of Rhode Island and Roger Williams School of Law.
As Director of Purchasing, Olasanoye will oversee all purchasing and procurement of materials, supplies, contractual services, equipment and all other necessary categories of procurement for the city.
