Providence Emergency Management Agency and Port partners to conduct annual drill of emergency evacuation system at Port of Providence

PROVIDENCE, RI – The Providence Emergency Management Agency (PEMA) will conduct the annual Port Evacuation Drill which includes a test activation of the Port of Providence Emergency Siren Warning System (PPESWS) at 1:30PM on Monday, October 24, 2022.
The primary goal of these drills is to ensure proper functioning of the sirens and the system control panels associated with them.
These sirens may be audible in surrounding communities. Residents do not need to take any action during this drill. The alert signal will be followed by the message:
“This is a test of the emergency management public warning system. This is only a test.”
