Citywide Curfew Now in Effect 9:00PM-5:00AM

PROVIDENCE, R.I. — Mayor Jorge O. Elorza today signed a new Executive Order (2020-8 [amended]) updating citywide curfew hours to 9:00PM-5:00AM and providing additional guidance for individuals traveling during those hours.
The curfew does not apply to first responders and emergency medical technicians; individuals providing medical treatment and/or first aid to others; individuals traveling directly to and from work or performing work; patrons of establishments conducting services within the conditions of their license and/or permit; people experiencing homelessness and without access to a viable shelter; individuals seeking medical treatment or medical supplies or fleeing dangerous circumstances; police officers; peace officers; firefighters and members of the news media.
Essential city services will continue to be accessible remotely. Local resources are available as defined on the City’s website. Residents can register to receive CodeRED emergency notifications by phone, email, text, and/or mobile alerts for the latest updates from the City.
