Third Quarter Tax Deadline Extended to Jan. 29; Tangible Tax Return Filing Deadline Extended to Feb. 9
A citywide parking ban will remain in effect until 6 a.m. tomorrow, Wednesday, January 28, 2015. Residents with overnight parking passes are advised that they cannot park on the street during the duration of the citywide parking ban. All vehicles parked on the street in violation of the citywide parking ban will be ticketed and towed to ensure that roadways can be plowed in the wake of the snow storm.
“The parking ban is crucial to ensuring that crews can continue to plow the streets curb to curb and get the city back to business as usual,” Mayor Elorza said. “Even when the statewide travel ban is lifted, the City’s parking ban remains in effect until 6 a.m. on Wednesday.”
City Hall and all City offices will be open tomorrow, Wednesday, Jan. 28 during normal business hours.
Mayor Elorza asks all residents and businesses in the City to shovel sidewalks by the end of the day on Wednesday, Jan. 28. Property owners are required to remove snow and ice from sidewalks, catch basins, fire hydrants and pedestrian ramps adjacent to their property.
Residents are asked to take care not to shovel snow onto roadways after streets have been plowed. For fire safety purposes, residents are urged not to rebury fire hydrants after they have been dug out.
