Mayor Jorge Elorza made the following statement regarding tonight’s budget passage in the City Council for upcoming Fiscal Year 2017:
“This budget will strengthen every neighborhood in Providence by investing in our schools, infrastructure, and communities. We are lowering the car tax, putting more than 1000 new computers in classrooms, and making it easier to do business Providence, while also making needed investments in our long-term success.”
“Over the past weeks, my partners on the City Council have provided valuable input and I am grateful for their hard work and continued dedication to our city. I look forward to enacting a fiscally responsible budget which invests in strong, vibrant neighborhoods now and in the future.”
