Sara joined the Law Department in March 2019. Her career in public service began in 2004 when she was hired as a paralegal for the Rhode Island Department of Attorney General. Inspired by the work she was involved in, Sara attended New England Law Boston at night while working full time to become a prosecutor. Sara graduated in May of 2010 and was a Special Assistant Attorney General assigned to criminal prosecution from January 2011-2019. She specialized in criminal litigation, motion practice, jury trials, including domestic violence, sexual assault, and other violent felony offenses. She has experience in the District, Family, and Superior Courts, as well as at the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal and is licensed to practice in Rhode Island and the US District Court for Rhode Island. Sara has assisted the City of Providence with Housing court, criminal district court, transactional work reviewing contracts and is legal counsel for the ethics commission. She enjoys spending time with her husband and children, yoga and theater.
