Sara J. Pierson joined the office in March 2019 and her primary assignment is the Housing Court. She earned her B.A. cum laude from Rhode Island College.
Ms. Pierson’s career in public service began as a paralegal for the Rhode Island Department of Attorney General in 2004. Inspired by the work she was involved in, Sara attended New England School of Law in Boston at night to become a prosecutor. Sara graduated in May 2010 and was sworn in as a Special Assistant Attorney General in January 2011, where she worked until January 2019. Attorney Pierson specialized in criminal litigation, motion practice, jury trials, including domestic violence, sexual assault and other violent felony offenses.
She has experience in the District, Family, and Superior Courts, as well as at the Rhode Island Traffic Tribunal and is licensed to practice in Rhode Island and the US District Court for Rhode Island.
Sara enjoys spending time with her husband and children, theatre, yoga and fitness.
