PROVIDENCE, RI – Mayor Jorge O. Elorza is pleased to announce the City of Providence is accepting nominations for its thirteenth annual Reverend Dr. Martin Luther King Jr. Hall of Fame induction ceremony.
Letters of nomination will be accepted until February 1, 2016. Nominations are welcome of local individuals who have made meaningful contributions to acceptance, social justice, civil rights and equality in the City of Providence or as a resident of the community.
Nominees must be a resident of Providence, or have accomplished a significant amount of community work in Providence.
Letters of nominations should be less than two pages long, and specify how the nominee exemplifies the spirit of Rev. Dr. Martin Luther King Jr.’s commitment to acceptance, social justice, civil rights and equality.
NOTE: NOMINATION DEADLINE HAS BEEN EXTENDED UNTIL FEBRUARY 1, 2016.
