The City of Providence is committed to investing in the future leaders of the city and providing opportunities for career growth. College students interested in interning with the Department of Diversity, Equity, Inclusion and Belonging could gain direct experience in a dynamic field, immerse themselves in new cultures and communities and engage with community partners, residents, and city departments.

What to expect interning with the Department:

  • Engage in projects related to Departmental and City needs.
  • Work towards strengthening relationships with Community Partners.
  • Run workshops, attend events, and prepare presentations.
  • Help with dimensions of the City of Providence DEI Curriculum
  • Identify ways to engage and integrate various perspectives into City practices.
