Street sweeping is conducted 10:30 PM to 7:00 AM, Sunday night through Friday morning to minimize the disruption to residents.
The City of Providence Street Sweeping Program is scheduled to sweep all sections of the City a minimum of four times during the course of the year. Some areas, particularly the business corridors will be swept more frequently.
Please keep in mind that the schedule is subject to change due to weather and staffing. Anyone with overnight parking permits will also be notified by email with the street sweeping schedule to make alternate parking arrangements to minimize interfering with street sweeping activities.

Street sweeping takes place every Sunday night in Downtown and the Jewelry District through December 28.
Sidewalks
Abutters are requested to sweep sidewalks in anticipation of street sweepers. Residents are also asked to clean sidewalks in front of vacant lots and public areas. Their cooperation would be most helpful since wind-borne litter carried from adjacent sidewalks and parking areas can nullify the results of a well-swept street. Street Sweeping is continuing on a nightly basis to address areas with continuing litter and debris issues.
