Celebrate STEAM Month with hands-on activities around the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park exploring science, technology, engineering, art and math.
Weekend Museum STEAM happenings:
10am-4pm: Make a bridge, explore gravity, discover spacecraft, and complete a special quest.
Cost: Free with Museum admission
Museum admission (does not include planetarium show ticket) is $2/Museum Members Free/free for children age 3 and younger.
STEAM Weekend Planetarium Shows:
2:00pm: Flight Adventures Fulldome Planetarium Show
Discover the science of flight through the eyes of a young girl and her grandfather as they explore how birds, kites, planes and models fly. Learn about the history and future plans of flight and how NASA is discovering new and safer ways to travel with the help of future engineers and aviators – like YOU! The program is followed by a brief tour of the night sky using the planetarium’s Zeiss star projector.
Cost: Planetarium show ticket (includes Museum admission) is $5/Museum Members Free/Children MUST be age 4 and older. EVERYONE ATTENDING THE PLANETARIUM SHOW NEEDS A TICKET. Children must be age 4 and older to attend a planetarium show. Children age 15 and under must be accompanied by an adult. Please plan to arrive at least 15 minutes prior to the show start time to check-in for the planetarium show. FOR SAFETY REASONS, TICKETHOLDERS ARE NOT PERMITTED TO ENTER THE PLANETARIUM ONCE THE SHOW HAS BEGUN. Planetarium show is 30 minutes. Planetarium show tickets must be purchased ONLINE. Choose carefully and then confirm your selection, as all selections/sales are final.
