2017 Tax Year – Beginning of the car tax phase-out
Due to a change in the state law on excise tax, a phase-out of the tax on motor vehicles is beginning in the 2017 tax year.
Beginning with the 2017 tax, vehicles over 15 years old (2002 model year and older) will not be taxed. All other vehicles will be assessed at 5% less than the full NADA value.
