Museum Event Rentals
Make the next event one to remember at the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium in Roger Williams Park. The Museum offers rental options for private receptions, weddings, celebrations, corporate gatherings and other special events. The two-floors of exhibits provide a memorable backdrop for cocktail-style receptions and social gatherings. Due to the layout and nature of the exhibits, seated dinners and dining table setups cannot be accommodated in exhibit halls. All Museum rentals are coordinated directly through the Museum. Standard Rental Rates
Weekday (Monday–Thursday)
$1,350 for up to 4 hours
Weekend (Friday–Sunday)
$2,000 for up to 4 hours
Additional Time
$300 per hour
Meeting Space
The Museum’s Education Center is available for meetings, subject to availability, at $250 per hour.
Holiday & Holiday Weekend Rentals
Rentals on holidays and holiday weekends are subject to availability and will require additional fees.
Current Providence Residents receive 10% off with proof of ID and as contracting party.
What is Included
Museum rentals include private use of two floors of exhibits, creating a one-of-a-kind backdrop for receptions, celebrations and gatherings. Guests are welcome to explore the exhibits throughout the event, with Museum staff onsite during the rental period.
Make the Space Unique
Catering, beverages, décor and event services can help create a distinctive experience within Museum guidelines. The Museum’s exhibit halls are especially well suited for cocktail-style receptions and social gatherings, allowing guests to mingle, explore and enjoy the Museum throughout the event.
Renters are responsible for coordinating all catering, event setup, décor and related services in consultation with Museum staff and in accordance with Museum guidelines. Setup and breakdown must take place within the reserved rental period. Tables and chairs are not provided, and heating elements are not permitted.
Looking for Something More?
An event can be made even more memorable with a private experience in the Planetarium. Planetarium experiences and customized activities may be added to select rentals for an additional fee and must be arranged in advance. Customized event options may be considered with advance Museum approval. Rental rates may vary depending on event needs, staffing, spaces and added experiences.
