Triggs Memorial Golf Course
History
The most popular public golf course in Rhode Island, Triggs Memorial Golf Course commemorates former Superintendent of Parks Jeremiah Triggs, who was superintendent in the 1920s. World renowned golf course architect Donald Ross designed the course.
The golf course opened in 1932 on what were formerly the grounds of the Obediah Brown farm. In the 84 years that the course has operated since, over a million rounds of golf have been played there. In 1990, the golf course transitioned to private management by FCG Associates, and several improvement efforts have worked to restore the original Ross design.
