Our Events & Rentals team helps residents, organizations, and businesses make meaningful use of Providence’s parks and public spaces while protecting these shared community resources. From neighborhood gatherings and celebrations to weddings, festivals, corporate events, and other permitted activities, the team guides organizers through the process and works to ensure events are safe, successful, and respectful of the parks and the surrounding community.

RWP Botanical Center and Lakeside Pavilion

Current Rental Information

The Botanical Center accommodates up to 80 guests for a seated dinner. For events with 81 to 150 guests, the Lakeside Pavilion is available seasonally from approximately the end of April through November 1. Events may use the Botanical Center for a ceremony and cocktail hour, followed by dinner and dancing in the Pavilion.

The rental includes five hours for a reception-only event or five and one-half hours for a ceremony and reception. One private event is scheduled per evening.

A licensed and insured caterer with full staff onsite is required. Caterer access begins at 3:30 p.m. and includes two hours for setup and one hour for breakdown. Tables, chairs, dance floors, linens, china, glassware, and all other rental items must be provided by the caterer or another approved vendor.

Rental Rates and Required Fees

January through March: $4,000

May through December: $7,000

Providence resident discount: 10% with valid identification; the Providence resident must be the contracting party.

Parking-lot security: $340

Catering tent fee: $500

RWP Museum of Natural History and Planetarium

The Museum of Natural History and Planetarium offers rental options for private receptions, celebrations, corporate gatherings and other special events. The unique exhibit spaces are best suited for reception-style gatherings that allow guests to mingle and explore the Museum.  Contact mnhinfo@providenceri.gov to learn more about rental options and availability.

Weekend (Friday–Sunday): $2,000 / up to 4 hours
Additional time: $300 / hour
Meeting Space | Education Center
$250 per hour, Subject to availability.

Rentals on holidays and holiday weekends are subject to availability and will require additional fees.
