How can I determine if the park I want to rent or host an event at is available on my preferred dates?
Please visit the Parks Department’s event page hub to check for availability on your preferred dates. If they’re unavailable, you can browse for other parks that might fit your needs.

Which activities require event permits?
Any person, business, organization, or other entity holding an event, program or activity in any city park or any portion thereof, with attendance in excess of twenty-five (25) persons, must obtain a Park Permit for the entirety of the event.

Do I need a permit to take photos in a city park?
Yes- if you are doing any commercial photography (this includes professional photos for things like weddings, engagement sessions and Sweet 15/16 photos), a permit is required.
First, check to see if the park you are interested in is available at your desired date and times.
Then, fill out a Contact Us form.

I would like to get married in a city park- how can I do this?
Approval and a permit are required to hold your event.
First, check if your desired dates are available on our event page hub.
Then, fill out a Contact Us form. You will be contacted by an event manager who will help you plan your ceremony and get it permitted.

Standard Museum Rental Rates
Museum rentals managed by the Museum of Natural History and Planetarium; please contact the Museum at mnhinfo@providenderi.gov for more information.
Weekday (Monday–Thursday): $1,350 / up to 4 hours
Weekend (Friday–Sunday): $2,000 / up to 4 hours
Additional time: $300 / hour
Holiday & Holiday Weekend Rentals
Rentals on holidays and holiday weekends are subject to availability and will require additional fees.
Meeting Space | Education Center
$250 per hour, Subject to availability. Setup and breakdown must occur within the rental period. Rates may vary based on event needs and access to additional spaces, including the planetarium. Click here for more information.
