Ascham Street Park
History
Deeded to the city in 1877, Ascham is a long-time open space home to prior playgrounds, youth softball, and youth soccer. Notable for its tall retaining wall on Ascham St. with mural visible from inside the park and surrounding North End neighborhood.
Recent Improvements
- Fence on McMillen St replaced 2026.
- Softball backstop and fencing removed 2025 to allow for multi-sport and open play.
- Fence on Hawkins St replaced 2024.
- Embankment slide, Parkour-style playground, and Tot Lot playground equipment were added in 2019.
