History

Bailey-Baxter Green Schoolyard was developed out of four, formerly blighted properties, conjoined together to provide a safe connection between Baxter Park and Robert L. Bailey, IV Elementary School. The Green Schoolyard features an outdoor classroom, interactive play and recreation areas, as well as native plantings and stormwater infiltration basins.

The original Baxter Park was expanded in 2019 with two additional lots acquired by the City. The original playground included basketball, foursquare, and hopscotch.

Recent Improvements

  • New playground and landscaping 2022.
