History

Brassil Memorial Park is named for Carolyn F. Brassil, the first woman elected to the Providence City Council, who served from 1975-1989. The park was dedicated in 1998. The land was deeded to the City in 1854 and was the site of the former Brook St. School.

Recent Improvements

  • Wildlife murals completed 2024.
  • On July 22nd, 2024, the redesigned Brassil Memorial Park was celebrated along with friends, community partners, and families, including beloved members of the Brassil family.
