Providence Parks
John O. Pastore Park
History
Named in honor of Federal Hill-raised John Orlando Pastore, a former Rhode Island Governor and an influential U.S. Senator in the 1960s. The park saw a resurgence in 2014-2016 and became a vibrant urban space. The adjacent Angelo Zuccolo Recreation Center is rich in neighborhood history and offers some of the City’s best-organized youth programming. The park may be accessed via stairs off Knight St or an inclined walkway off Tell St. A loop around the park’s interior walking path measures approximately one-tenth of a mile.
