Providence Parks
Maintenance
Keeping our parks, playgrounds, buildings, and amenities safe, functional, and welcoming every day.
About Maintenance
Our Maintenance team is the skilled workforce behind the year-round care, repair, and improvement of Providence’s parks, playgrounds, athletic facilities, buildings, and public amenities. From Certified Playground Safety Inspectors, welders, carpenters, electricians, and mechanics to skilled maintenance crews, our team completes thousands of work orders each year while also building, repairing, and enhancing the features that keep our parks safe, functional, welcoming, and ready for the public.
This experienced team maintains our irrigation systems, waterparks, park utility buildings and concession stands, lighting, playgrounds, athletic and fitness equipment, park amenities and furnishings like benches, fences, and signage. The team is skilled in carpentry, masonry, and painting tasks as well as electrical, plumbing, and HVAC. We also complete larger graffiti removal tasks and pressure washing. Our dedicated vehicle and small engine mechanics keep our fleet and power equipment up and running smoothly. We also facilitate our own inventory and supply for the Parks Department out of our Grounds Maintenance facility within Roger Williams Park.
